Elliott Bay Bicycles in Seattle is closing. Bob is retiring, Bill will open a new space where he can continue to build Davidson custom bicycles.
I visited their shop last year before starting the Seattle International Randonneurs’ Crater lake 1000K. Chatting with Bob and admiring the collection of beautiful old bikes was a lot of fun and took the anxious edge off of the evening (I was nervous about the ride). Remembering that you should always buy at least one thing when you visit a great bike shop, I purchased a Clement cap and wore it for the 1000K.
